House La Franja is located 2 km from Tamarite de Litera, the capital of the Litera region, with a population of about 5,000 inhabitants.
Its main attraction is the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria La Mayor from the 13th century, from where you can start a walking tour through its medieval streets. Nearby, there is a large natural area situated on the old castle grounds, of which several remains are preserved. From this spot, you can visit amazing viewpoints and evocative places such as the "Balcony of the Moors," "The Bottle Rock," "The Witches’ Square," and more.
In addition to these unique rock formations, the area is also close to an Iberian-Roman archaeological site: Els Castellasos.
It is near several Protected Designations of Origin (D.O.) making it an ideal place to explore them, such as D.O. Somontano (Enate, Viñas de Vero, Bodega Pirineos...), Costers del Segre (Raimat, Castell del Remei), and Valle de Cinca (Bodegas Valonga).
House La Franja is an excellent starting point for cycling around the Litera region to discover its villages and people. From Tamarite, you can follow a well-marked route that runs parallel to the canal, allowing you to see ancient water tanks and silos. For those who prefer a leisurely walk, it is highly recommended to explore the rural paths and observe the local farmland and farms. The abandoned village of Rocafort is also worth a visit.
The house is located just a few kilometers from the Santa Ana Reservoir, an excellent spot for fishing.
