Bodegas y Viñedos Ligüerre de Cinca
Wine, history and life in the Aragonese Pyrenees
Ligüerre de Cinca, in the heart of Sobrarbe, was for centuries a land of wine. Before the construction of the El Grado Reservoir (1969), its inhabitants cultivated more than 20 hectares of vineyards and made wine in cellars carved beneath their homes.
Decades later, the village has been reborn through a recovery project that combines wine tourism, sustainability, and winemaking tradition.
Today, Bodegas y Viñedos Ligüerre de Cinca has 7.2 hectares of its own vineyards and is the only winery in Sobrarbe. Oenologists such as Vicente Ubalde, Víctor Barrabés, Paz Mur, and Enrique Castell have continued a legacy based on our philosophy:
“Respect for the land, emotion in the wine.”
The Vineyard and Our Wines
We cultivate Garnacha, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and white grapes adapted to the unique microclimate of the El Grado Reservoir. We are committed to sustainable viticulture, without herbicides and with natural treatments.
- Garnacha – Originally from Aragon (1513), a hardy and widespread variety. Produces intense, warm wines with low acidity and quick aging.
- Syrah. Originating from Persia, produces deep-colored, aromatic wines with soft tannins and great aging potential. Spicy notes add elegance and body.
- Cabernet Sauvignon. A cross between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. Yields structured, tannic, long-lived wines with stable garnet color and subtle herbal notes. Perfect for barrel aging due to its balance and complexity.
Unique Pyrenean Wines
- Susía Blanco Joven Chardonnay
- Susía Rosado Joven Garnacha
- Susía Roble Varietales (crianza)
- Ligüerre Selección, limited edition of 8,000 bottles, predominantly Syrah
